about

Watagua is another area in my hometown of Franklin, North Carolina. It was inspired by a man that inappropriately yelled at me at a hospital in Brooklyn-- for a long time.

lyrics

My city is blind-
It takes me down streets I don’t know.
My city is fine-
But, it tells me to stay put, don’t go-
When I should run.

My city just slapped my face-
It pushed me around again.
It says that I’m commonplace-
That I have to sell my soul
To persevere.
But, I swear it’s all right, I swear it’s all right.

Cuz, I’m gonna fight it.
I’m gonna fight it.
I’m gonna fight it.

I fell through a blackened hole,
Where there was no branch to grab,
And, then, at the bottom-ness
A man was yelling there- incessantly.
But, I swear it’s all right, I swear it’s all right.

Cuz, I’m gonna fight him.
I’m gonna fight him.
I’m gonna fight him.

A fist, a finger,
A fa-la-la-la-la-la,
A cloudy mirror,
A “keep your back straight, honey.”
The end is nearer,
I’m not a fearer
Of all the losses and bruises.

And, I’m gonna fight it.
I’m gonna fight it.
I’m gonna fight it.
